    Colleagues,

I am one of a team of editors of an Edward Elgar handbook to be published in 2022: the

HANDBOOK OF MULTI-LEVEL CLIMATE ACTIONS:  SPARKING AND SUSTAINING TRANSFORMATIVE APPROACHES.   The call for proposals is attached.

Our intent is that this handbook becomes a collection of informed and inspirational writings, thoughts, and strategies that highlight what has been done, is being done, and still needs to be done on the many levels or scopes of human activity, directed at effectively tackling one of, if not the greatest emergencies humanity has ever faced: slowing and halting climate change and renewing the climate.  Contributions can take the form of a conceptual or empirical article, essay, plan, review, interview, debate, college or continuing education program, or other relevant format.

We invite proposals for submissions that address a wide variety of topics relating to taking action at multiple levels (e.g., individual, neighborhood, group, department, facility, organizational, local, state/provincial, national, global) in any of a variety of sectors (e.g., civil society, religion, education, media, business, government) that may help successfully address the climate emergency. We are especially interested in receiving proposals that involve multiple levels and/or multiple sectors.

Categories of focus of possible submissions include the following: goals, policies, strategies, systems and structures; tools and processes; education, research and advocacy; behaviors; values; and other or multiple approaches.  Representative ideas within each of these categories are found in the attached call for proposals, and we hope that these will stimulate you to develop additional ideas for proposals.

1-2 page single spaced proposals are due by June 15th, 2021, with 5,000-10,000 word submissions due by September 21, 2021.  Revised submissions will be due by December 1, 2021.

We look forward to hearing from you!
