Academy of Management Perspectives (AMP) publishes rigorous academic studies that are relevant to managerial practice and policy. You can see more about our revised mission here and here.

To help us achieve rigorous relevance, AMP's editorial board will contain a mix of traditional research faculty and clinical faculty. I am able to identify suitable traditional faculty for this board. But I am not heavily skilled beyond that, and so I am seeking your help to find suitable CLINICAL FACULTY for our incoming editorial board.

Clinical faculty are increasingly common at many business schools, as well as related schools such as public policy, labor relations, and sustainability. Often with the title of Professor of Practice or Clinical Professor, they are full-time faculty members who have a background in practice and now focus on teaching, applied research, and service.

For AMP's editorial board, I seek near-unicorns holding clinical roles who are especially ambidextrous at contributing to both managerial scholarship and practice. They need a background in management practice, ideally at an executive level. They also need to know how to convey research ideas to a practice audience, which is most clearly conveyed by semi-recent publication in applied journal outlets like HBR, CMR, SMR etc. Yet they also need to have a strong understanding of management scholarship and methodology. This is most directly conveyed by holding a PhD or DBA and having at least some published work in mainstream scholarly journals. And to cap it all off, well they need to be interested in helping out at AMP by reviewing a paper once every two or three months.

If you are, or if you know of anyone, or multiple anyones, who fits this bill within reasonable tolerance, please, pretty please, share their information with me. I have created a survey tool to gather nominations:

Our term for the AMP editorial board begins July 1, 2024, and ends June 30, 2027.

Thanks in advance for your nominations!

    Best,
