    Dear colleagues,

There is still time to sign up for an exciting extension to the main Strategic Management Society conference on September 15th.
The theme is 'Strategies for Building Resilience: How Can Organisations and Networks Manage Adverse Events?" and the extension takes place at ESSEC Business School, just 35 minutes from central Paris.
The event is open to non-members of SMS. You will find the program attached to this email.

The purpose of this extension is to take stock of how organizations broadly conceived (for-profit firms, not-for-profit firms, social enterprises) and networks contribute to system resilience.
Strategy scholars with different disciplinary backgrounds will be invited to take up the "grand challenge" of studying how organizations and networks can respond to adverse natural or social events (e.g., pandemics, natural disasters, recessions, migrations).
On the program we have a set of young and senior scholars who have done work in this area, including Olenka Kacperczyk (London Business School), Tal Simons (Erasmus), Olivier Chatain (HEC Paris), Andrew Shipilov (INSEAD), Gerardo Patriotta (University of Bath), · Ekin Ilseven (INSEAD),  Ali Mohammadi (Copenhagen Business School), Farah Kodeich (IESEG), Paola Zappa (UCL), Leonardo Nardi (HEC Paris), Rahedur Chowduri (University of ESSEX), Leandro Pongeluppe (Wharton), Miguel Godinho de Matos (CLSBE). Then we have contributions from two thoughtful practitioners, Celine Schmitt (UNHCR) and Arnault Pretet (OECD). Participants will also have an opportunity to further develop their own work in this area and to engage in plenary discussions.
The deadline to sign up is September 1st. This event is sponsored by ESSEC Business School

We look forward to seeing you there and please write to us with any questions you may have.

The organizers: Raffaele Conti, Elisa Operti & Amit Kumar
