November 2020
Dear SIM Colleagues,
I hope this note finds all of you well and in good health, especially in these times.
I write to thank everyone who voted on the proposed bylaws amendments. Now that the votes are in and AOM has formally certified the results, I can confirm that the proposed amendments passed with an overwhelmingly positive vote – just under 99% of people voted yes. The final tally was 176 votes for the changes and 2 against. We will be updating the bylaws to reflect these changes. I’d like to thank my colleagues, and especially David Wasieleski and Jill Brown, for their efforts in crafting these useful changes to our bylaws and getting us to a vote on them.
Finally, I’d note that we are excited to have clarity from AOM regarding the 2021 meeting – and confirmation that it will be a virtual meeting. We will be working hard as a Governance Team to make it the best possible experience for our members. We encourage you to submit your work and to volunteer to support our division, especially through reviewing, being an AE and chairing sessions.
Best,
Andy WicksDivision Chair, SIM, 2020-2021WicksA@darden.virginia.edu
