The SIM Communications Committee is excited to share a message from our Program Chair, @Punit Arora, with updates on current SIM events.

In the Beginning, There Were Submissions.

Before the coffee breaks, before the name badges, before the keynote applause …

There were Submissions. 580 of them: 435 Papers, 25 PDW Workshop, 33 posters, and 87 Symposia proposals.

And thus began the sacred ritual of:

    ·         Assigning reviewers with supernatural matching precision (3 keyword matches, 2, or just one. Anyone. Someone, Pretty Please, in more or less, that order).

    ·         Sending polite reminders, pleas, and threats… on repeat … hoping something will stick….

    ·         Apparently, something did stick… because 508 reviewers and 58 AEs diligently worked to complete 1,847 reviews in little over 3 weeks. As a result, 97% of the submissions received three or more reviews.

AMAZING!!! Or maybe, that’s just because #SIM and #SIMians are the best.

Note that if you received 5 reviews, it's not because we harbored special love or hate for your submission. It just means all original and emergency reviewers and an editor, all came through by the end of the process.

    ·         If you are one of the unlucky ones who received fewer than 2 reviews, I apologize. Just know that I tried up to 7 folks to get you these reviews … alas, without success, given the short timeframe, or maybe due to the inability to bribe with coffee in person!

Now that the Academy of Management Annual Meeting reviewing phase is over, authors and reviewers can sit back and relax. It is time to make decisions and assemble a cohesive program agenda. In other words, it is time for the program development committee Mehdi Samimi, Susana Esper, Shilpi Banerjee, Adrian Zicari, Miho Murashima, along with Jegoo Lee, Erica Steckler, Michelle Westermann-Behaylo, Rajat Panwar to ramp up our work and put together an amazing conference program. More to follow soon!

Thank you, SIM Division, AOM, for your Herculean effort!
