"It takes a village: Leveraging organization theory for unpacking impact in business families"

The Symposium will explore the role of business families in shaping positive societal outcomes and particularly 'Impact'. In their role as capital holders and investors, business families control an estimated $3.1 trillion in assets under management (Deloitte, 2024), representing a significant portion of global private wealth. The Symposium focuses on the conditions through which business families as investors and wealth owners can exert significant, positive impact, and the challenges they face in doing so.
We are excited to welcome Prof. Vern Glaser (University of Alberta) as a discussant for the Symposium and look forward to four paper presentations and a discussion of how to bridge new theory in the context of business families:
