    Dear colleagues,

We are excited to launch a call for papers for a special issue on Artificial Intelligence, Business, and Epochal Change in Business & Society. Artificial Intelligence is poised to transformative effects on our organizations and our efforts to collectively address pressing social and environmental challenges. In line with the mandate of Business & Society, this special issue aims to generate significant, big-picture, and interdisciplinary contribution to theory. Potential topics include, but are not limited to, the effects of artificial intelligence on human values and well-being; the corporate agendas, embodied politics, and shifting ideologies shaping the development of artificial intelligence; and the effects of artificial intelligence on energy, the environment, and resources. You can find the full call for papers, including submission guidelines, attached. The submission window will be open from September 1 – September 30, 2026.

To support authors' idea development, we will be organizing a virtual Paper Development Workshop (PDW) on May 20th from 16:00 – 18:30 CET, 10:00 – 12:30 EST, and 7:00 – 9:30 PST. If you are interested in applying to participate, please submit a short paper of up to 3,000 words (excluding references) that overviews your key arguments and intended contributions. Submissions should be sent to Glen Whelan (whelan.glen@uqam.ca) between April 1-15, 2026. We will inform accepted participants by April 30. Please note that applying for, or participating in, the PDW is not a prerequisite for eventual submission to the special issue.

We look forward to your submissions.

Please contact Glen Whelan if you have any further questions about the special issue.

    Best regards,
