Dear Colleagues,
We're excited to invite you to a timely and thought-provoking Panel Symposium at the 2025 Academy of Management Conference in Copenhagen: What's the Angle? Diverse Perspectives on Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion in Management Research
In a time of political backlash, corporate rollbacks, and ongoing social inequities, DEI efforts face growing scrutiny. Yet, the conversation is far from over. This panel symposium asks:
"How has DEI evolved in management research and practice, and how can diverse perspectives deepen our understanding of its purposes, impacts, and gaps?"
We will begin with opening remarks by Dr. Nancy DiTomaso (Rutgers University), whose pioneering work has helped shape how we understand systemic inequities in organizational life. A dynamic panel of global scholars will then interrogate DEI's current landscape-spanning performative rhetoric, stakeholder dynamics, institutional backlash, and regional variations. This symposium is not just about critique, but about getting real about the path forward.
