SIM DOCTORAL STUDENT CONSORTIUM (DSC) AT THE
    AOM ANNUAL CONFERENCE 2026

    Friday, July 31, 2026, 9:00am – 5:30pm Eastern Standard Time (EST)

Sponsored by Social Issues in Management (SIM) Division

    Dear Colleagues,

The Social Issues in Management (SIM) Division is soliciting applications to its in-person Doctoral Consortium during this year's Academy of Management Meeting. If you are a doctoral student, please consider applying using the link below. If you are faculty, please consider forwarding this opportunity to your students doing research on social issues in management.

To apply, please fill out this application form.

Applications are due by April 1st, 2026. Applicants will be informed of acceptance by April 20th, 2026.

The SIM Doctoral Consortium aims to inspire and inform doctoral students focusing on SIM topics, providing elements for success and impact in scholarship, teaching, service, and academic lives. Distinguished SIM scholars will share their knowledge, engage in panel discussions, and interact with students. Junior SIM faculty will discuss their dissertation process and job market experiences. A senior SIM scholar will deliver a comprehensive lecture on the traditional and hot topics in SIM and the journal publishing landscape. The PDW is designed to be both informative and interactive, offering students a "survival toolkit" for completing their doctoral program and early career. Ample time is dedicated to meeting and conversing with long-time SIM members; one highlight is that students will also be paired with volunteer senior scholar mentors for individualized attention and advice over lunch.

The SIM Doctoral Consortium welcomes current PhD students interested in topics related to Social Issues in Management, with priority given to those advanced in their programs if over-subscribed. The event will begin with get to know each other and a moderated "Meet the Senior Scholars" session on Thursday, July 30, at 6:00pm EST, followed by dinner and drinks. The main program will be held on Friday, July 31, from 9:00 am – 6:00 pm.
