We are delighted to launch SIMcast, a new initiative from the SIM Communications Committee created to help the SIM community get to know fellow SIMians a little bit better - beyond what one can glean from a list of publications on a Google Scholar profile.
In SIMcast, we take a trip down memory lane to uncover what makes a SIMian tick: how they became academics, what shaped their individual journeys, and what eclectic hobbies or passions lie behind their professional image.
This is not a podcast involving a ponderous narration of an academic paper - it is a peek behind the curtain to discover what makes the academic a SIMian, well… human ✨✨
Our first episode features Michelle Westermann-Behaylo, our most recent SIM Division Chair and a long-standing contributor to the SIM community. Michelle has served SIM for many years, holding all positions on the Executive Team and earning deep respect and admiration for her commitment, leadership, and service 🙌🏼
Michelle is also a scholar at the University of Amsterdam, affiliated with the Faculty of Economics and Business, Section Strategy & International Business, with research connected to important conversations on business, society, corporate responsibility, human rights, and sustainable development.
