We are excited to announce the return of the storied Organization Science Winter Conference, which has been on hiatus since the start of the pandemic. To represent the growing global footprint of our research community, we will hold it for the first time outside North America-in Zurich on Feb 29-March 2, 2024. Stefano Brusoni, Vibha Gaba, John Joseph, and Violina Rindova are the (super awesome) organizing committee, and have already put in tremendous work in getting the location, date, and facilities nailed down.
We chose Zurich for the first year back for several reasons. First, it represents our commitment to fostering a global community. Second, Zurich is well-connected with direct flights from around the world. Third, we have great resources there and boots on the ground. Fourth, the city provides a wide variety of housing options at different budget levels.
One of our goals with the conference is to make it inclusively affordable for those who want to come. The conference will be located at the Zurich Development Center, a beautiful facility just a few minutes via tram from the downtown area. The ZDC has onsite rooms for those who wish, but less expensive options are located nearby. Our use of the ZDC is made possible by the generous support of Zurich Insurance Company and the ETH Zurich Risk Centre. This and other support will help minimize costs for those without significant institutional support for travel. It will also allow us to have a somewhat larger conference.
Stay tuned. . . we are planning to issue a formal call in May, with deadlines in October/November and Decisions by mid December. Hope to see some of you there!
