Dear SIM Colleagues,
I hope that your summer is off to a happy and healthy start. I am excited to announce that on July 12th, Routledge Press will publish my first book, "Conversations About Calling: Advancing Management Perspectives." It is an interdisciplinary analysis of the definition of calling, how it has changed over centuries, and the practical implications of those shifts for human resource management, organizations, individuals and society. As such, it is relevant to management scholars, consultants, psychologists, career counselors, leaders/managers, clergy and anyone who is interested in meanings of work, work ethics and calling. Findings in the book are congruent with this year's AOM theme: Capitalism in Question.
You may pre-order Conversations About Calling using any of the links located at http://www.conversationsaboutcalling.com/index.html
Feel free to share the purchase link or the book website with others who might be interested via email, Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, or newsletters.
If you know of an audience that would like to read the book or hear me speak about it, please forward this information or let me know. Also, since there are discounts for bulk purchases through Routledge Press, drop me a line if you're familiar with an organization that might have an interest in buying one hundred or more copies, and I'll put you in touch with the right people.
Start a Conversation About Calling: If you adopt the book or business case for a course or to lead a group, please consider enriching the conversation about calling by becoming part of a community that shares ideas and best practices. To do so, you may contact me at http://www.conversationsaboutcalling.com/contact.html
Best regards,
Valerie
