Colleagues; please excuse cross postings for this notice
You are invited to attend the Academy of management Professional Development Workshop - Lessons from Practice: Cross Sector Partnerships to Solve Social and Environmental Challenges - Saturday morning, August 8, 8:00am until 11:30am.
This PDW will provide a dynamic interaction between academics and practitioners interested in cross sector alliances geared toward sustainability. Corporate and NGO leaders, including those from Wal-Mart, Environmental Defense Fund, will engage with leading scholars, students, and practitioners interested in sustainability partnership research and seek to develop and/or to challenge extant explanatory frameworks for understanding the factors for success. The goal of the PDW is to build on alliance theory through interaction among researchers and practitioners interested in cross sector partnerships and to provide a venue for candid and rigorous discussion informed by practitioners actively engaged in cross sectoral partnerships around the world. More specifically, we seek to explore a more comprehensive set of dimensions relevant to success with these partnerships, such that future work in the area might be more focused and extend from the actual partnering behavior of participants in leading collaborations around the world.
Hoped-for outcomes include: opportunities to network with new and seasoned scholars, students, and practitioners; identification of research and training opportunities; new models and theories; and helping to change society for the better.
Unfortunately, the PDW system prevents signing-up online, but if you are registered for the Academy meeting, I can have you added to the participant list. Email me at
