    Dear SIMians –

I hope you do not find this email intrusive or inappropriate but I thought you might want to know of this project and possibly vote in support of it.  Please see the email below, a former MBA student of mine at Duquesne, and David Saiia's email below that.

    Happy holidays!

    Good morning,

From 2008 until now, I've been part of the Plastivation team, a project that aims to create low-cost roofing construction products from waste plastic bottles using machines invented by Dr. David Saiia.

In 2008, our team has successfully put up a roof using this material in Quito, Ecuador. We are planning to create more machines to produce additional low-cost roofing and construction products from plastic bottle waste to help people in developing countries and provide disaster relief to places like Haiti.

Recently, David has applied for "Pepsi refresh project" to get funding for Plastivation and it was accepted by Pepsi. See here: http://www.refresheverything.com/reuseeverything. We are competing with many other projects and the way to get funding from Pepsi is through your votes.

Please click on this link http://www.refresheverything.com/reuseeverything and vote for our project today. Please also help me spread the words by sending this email to your friends and encourage them to vote as well. There are 30 days left and you can go on this site and vote everyday (please do this for me, pretty please!). It will also be great if you can post the link on facebook or twitter and ask folks to vote for us.

Let me know if you have questions and happy holidays!

    Vananh

    Dear Vananh:

I'm sure you get many requests everyday – here is one that is worth your time. Check out this project: http://www.refresheverything.com/reuseeverything

Over 60 billion plastic bottles are used and thrown out every year in the U.S. – globally there are over 300 billion waste plastic bottles every year. WE could build low cost, beautiful and room-brightening roofs for millions with that plastic and to make that happen all you have to do is vote for this project everyday through the month of December. What a great Holiday gift to the planet! Please vote, please tell your friends and give a thought to those who have less than they need and to a planet that is over-burdened with plastic waste. Together we can make a difference – please post this to every social network you have access to. Use your votes on this site to make this project possible.

    Cheers, David
