    Please find below the call for the 2016 Organizations and Natural Environment and Network for Business Sustainability, Research Impact on Practice Award. This award is in addition to the previous call for ONE awards (http://one.aom.org/index.php/awards).

     

    2016 ONE and Network for Business Sustainability

    Research Impact on Practice Award

     

    This award recognizes a piece of contemporary, peer-reviewed research that has important implications for prac­tice. The research may focus on any dimension of social or environmental sustainability.

    The Network for Business Sustainability (NBS) co-sponsors this award with the Organizations and the Natural Environment Division.

     

    The winner will receives $500 cash and a trophy to be delivered at the ONE business meeting of AOM. The winner will contribute a Thought Leader piece for NBS and present his or her work at an NBS event. The research will be promoted broadly through NBS.

     

    Nomination and evaluation

     

    The research must have been published (hard copy) within the previous calendar year (January 1 – December 31 2015); online pre-publication alone is insufficient. Authors need not be members of ONE.

     

    To nominate an article, submit the original article, along with a letter of nomination, which should include:

    1.      Full citation and author's contact information

    2.      Description of the key contributions (theoretical and empirical) (max 150 words)

    3.      Description of the realized or potential implications for practice (max 150 words)

     

    The descriptions should be written in language that is accessible to knowledgeable sustainability practitioners.

     

    Applicants may nominate their own work or the work of another.

     

    The criteria for judging articles are:

    ·        Relevance (e.g. is the topic of importance to managers) (50%)

    ·        Rigor (i.e. what is the quality of the research - the work must be empirical, but can be based on qualitative or quantitative data) (50%)

     

    We also encourage members of the research community to join NBS to share insights with practitioners.

     

    The submission deadline is April 30, 2016. Please send submissions, and any questions, to both NBS (mfischhoff@nbs.net) and Sukhbir Sandhu, ONE Awards Committee (sukhbir.sandhu@unisa.edu.au).

     

    The judging committee will consist of the ONE Awards Committee Chair, an additional ONE member (appointed by the ONE Awards Committee Chair), one NBS staff person and a member of the prac­titioner community (e.g. sustainability managers).

     

    A winner will be chosen by July 21, 2016.
