Session #855 :"Governance and Sustainability in Private Sector Firms" on Monday, August 10th from 8:00 am to 9:20 am at the Fairmont Waterfront Hotel, Burrard Room. The caucus will be organized around the following themes with respect to governance and sustainability in private sector firms:
1. Definition of sustainability in private sector firms.
2. Governance with a small 'g' and a large 'G'.
3. What causes sustainability-oriented governance to work or not work in business.
4. How to measure the effectiveness/success of governance structures.
5. Governance and engagement with other stakeholders.
6. How host and home government policies and agendas influence private sector governance.
Attendees with papers, experience, and/or research interest in any of these themes are encouraged to attend. Ideally, the caucus will first break into thematic groups and then join for a combined discussion and then the creation of an action plan to continue the conversations that were started.

Session #1430: "Can MNEs Help Developing Countries Attain Sustainable Economic Growth?" on Monday, August 10th from 4:45 pm to 6:15 pm at the Fairmont Waterfront Hotel, Burrard Room.
The caucus will be organized around the following themes with respect to MNEs helping developing countries attain sustainable economic growth:
1. The business case.
2. The moral case.
3. The case for collaboration between MNEs and local groups.
4. Dealing with inadequate institutions and/or infrastructure.
5. Governance structures within MNEs, governments, NGOs and civic groups.
6. Governance structures within multi-stakeholder entities.
Attendees with papers, experience, and/or research interest in any of these themes are encouraged to attend. Ideally, the caucus will first break into thematic groups and then join for a combined discussion and then the creation of an action plan to continue the conversations that were started.
