Faculty Position in Organization Studies
Owen Graduate School of Management, Vanderbilt University
The Organization Studies area at Vanderbilt University's Owen Graduate School of Management seeks applicants for a tenure-track faculty appointment. The search is focused at the junior level but candidates at all ranks will be considered. Although we are open to candidates with research and teaching interests in any aspect of organization studies (OB vs. OT vs. HR; micro vs. macro), some engagement with HR in teaching and/or research is desirable. We prefer candidates with flexible teaching interests. The Organization Studies area (encompassing OB, HR, and OT) is comprised of faculty with diverse interests spanning topics, methods, and levels of analysis. Faculty members in the area publish in and hold important editorial roles in highly regarded journals, and have served in leadership roles in key professional associations.
The Owen Graduate School of Management is engaged in graduate and undergraduate management education. It has an enrollment of over 550 students in its MBA, Health Care MBA, Executive MBA, Americas MBA for Executives, Master of Science in Finance, Masters of Accountancy, Master of Marketing, and Master of Management in Health Care programs. In addition, Owen School faculty members teach Vanderbilt University's undergraduate business minor courses. The Owen School enrolls students from all parts of the U.S. and 35 countries. Founded in 1873, Vanderbilt University is an internationally recognized research university a with student body of some 12,000 undergraduate, graduate, and professional students, and roughly 1,400 full-time faculty, of whom 48 have their primary appointment in the Owen School. The university is situated on a 330-acre campus located a mile and a half from downtown Nashville.
Home to more than 1.5 million people, the Nashville metropolitan area has over a dozen colleges and universities and features many cultural and recreational amenities including a symphony orchestra, professional sports, an extensive park system, great restaurants, and live music offerings across a broad variety of genres. Major industries include healthcare, publishing, insurance and finance, education, and entertainment. Nashville is frequently identified as one of the best U.S. cities for work, family, and quality of life by various national publications.
