Dear Professor:
Your assistance is requested. I am Dewaynna Cates, a doctoral candidate in
Management in the Department of Management and Marketing at Jackson State
University. I am conducting a study entitled, "Organizational Citizenship
Pressure among Business School Faculty:  An Empirical Investigation of the
Mediating Effects of Job Engagement and Job Burnout".

Through your participation, I hope to better understand Organizational
Citizenship Pressure as perceived by business school faculty. The purpose
of the questionnaire is to assess the extent to which faculty perceive
they are pressured to perform above and beyond the duties specified in
their job descriptions, to determine whether educators are burned out or
engaged in their work, and to investigate the job performance and staying
intentions of business educators who perceive organizational citizenship
pressure.

In addition, I would like to collect data from more than one source as
behavioral research is often based exclusively on self reported data.
Therefore, I will collect data from the chair of your department.
Specifically, I would like to assess your department chair's perception of
citizenship pressure. Your department chair will be asked the extent to
which he/she feels pressured to perform above and beyond the duties
specified in his/her job description.  He or she will also be asked to
indicate the extent to which he/she feels you may experience citizenship
pressure. Your department chair will not be informed of your responses and
you will not be informed of your department chair's responses.

This research has been approved by the Institutional Review Board of
Jackson State University and more details are provided in the actual
