We invite you to participate in the professional development workshop "Shareholder Empowerment" on Saturday, Aug 2nd, 12:15-2:15 at Loews Philadelphia Hotel (in Penn).
The session will facilitate contributions to the shareholder empowerment debate from diverse management perspectives. Scholars will address 1) the theoretical foundations of shareholder empowerment, 2) implications for stakeholders and managers, and 3) under what conditions shareholder empowerment creates value for modern firms. We will use an incubator approach to facilitate discussion among participants and to help identify under-researched areas and directions for future research on shareholder empowerment. In the first half of the PDW, panelists will briefly present their research, and the second half will be devoted to round table discussions of those topics and to sharing key insights.
