    Call for Proposals:

Special Issue of Socio-Economic Review in 2018

    Deadline: October 1, 2016

Socio-Economic Review (SER) is pleased to invite proposals for either of the thematic Special Issues to be published in 2018. A proposal should contain the following information:

    1. The names, contact details, and positions of the proposed Guest Editor(s) together with brief biographical details.

    2. The title of the proposed special issue.

    3. A one-page "call for papers" indicating the main theme, key topics, and methodological foci for submissions to the Special Issue. Please provide a list containing short abstracts of any potential invited contributions, information about the authors and indication of their commitment. Guest editors are not permitted to submit regular peer review papers for the special issue, but are encouraged to write a substantive introductory article developing the state of the art around the topic.

    4. A two or three page description of the rationale behind the proposal, its planned scope, its innovative nature in relation to existing published work, and its likely relevance for readers of Socio-Economic Review. Please read the Editorial Policy Statement of SER via the following webpage: http://ser.oxfordjournals.org/

    Key Information:

The Editors of SER will assess proposals for the Special Issue. Once accepted, Guest Editors of Special Issues will be responsible for ensuring that authors adhere to SER's editorial policy and formal guidelines. Guest Editors are encouraged to use a mix of invited and open submissions for the Special Issue, working to actively solicit quality submissions. However, all manuscripts for the Special Issue must undergo double-blind peer review and revisions according to normal SER standards.

The word count of each paper should be between 6,000 and 10,000 words. The total word count of an issue will not usually exceed 70,000 words (including refs, notes, diagrams and tables).

Guest Editors will be asked to work roughly according to the following timetable for the 2016 special issue:

November 2016: Issue of the public "call for papers" for the Special Issue.
April 2017: Deadline for paper submissions. Beginning of review process.
April 2018: Deadline for submission of production-ready final manuscripts.

The final timetable for a 2018 special issue will be determined in conjunction with the guest editors.

Proposals and queries may be sent to chief editor Gregory Jackson at: gregory.jackson@fu-berlin.de
