The other North American voice: exploring Canadian corporate social responsibility
Abstract - This symposium will focus on the origins and evolution of the Canadian approach to corporate social responsibility (CSR) from 1945 to the present from an inter-disciplinary and multi-level perspective. It will focus on three main issues, namely (1) the origins and evolution of CSR in Canada; (2) Canadian specificities: based on a detailed historical examination and analysis, what have been the main traits of the Canadian approach to CSR? What would be the main characteristics of these Canadian context and form of CSR? ; and (3) implications for practice, policy-making, and research: What are the implications of these specificities for business practice, policy-making and more generally, research on CSR?
