Dear Fellow Academy (and SIM) Member:
As Co-Editors of a scholarly journal that is closely aligned with the interests, topics, and networks of the SIM Division of the Academy of Management, we want to invite you once again to actively participate in helping to make Organization & Environment (O&E) the premier journal for management and environment scholars. During the past year, we have worked with our publisher, SAGE, and our excellent Editorial Board and noted Associate Editors, many of whom are SIM members, in re-orienting the journal to incorporate high-quality articles and essays on the organization-environment nexus to an even greater extent than in the past.
We have been gratified that, compared with previous years, O&E submissions, reviews, citations, and download efforts are all on the rise. To help us continue these very positive trends, we are inviting you to visit our website (http://oae.sagepub.com) to consider our open calls for special issues and our general solicitation of organization-environment submissions and to take the next action-step and submit or a review an O&E manuscript in the next few months.
If you are new to the Division, you may not know that our journal’s history dates back to the 1980s, is published on-line on a quarterly basis, and focuses on the connections between the management of all types of organizations and the multiple aspects of external environments. In addition, O&E is indexed in multiple relevant databases, including the Thompson Journal Citation Reports, under both “Management” and “Environment”.
While most recently we have published several issues with a distinctly sustainability management theme, in addition to welcoming more submissions on that topic, we also invite submissions on other organization-and-environment topics. Suffice to say, as a member of this Division, you are probably conducting and reading research and writing articles in which our journal’s readers would very likely be interested
So, please visit our website as indicated above and consider submitting to and/or reviewing for Organization & Environment. Of course, also feel free to contact either of us at j.aragon@surrey.ac.uk or mark.starik@gmail.com if you have any questions about your potential involvement or any innovative ideas you think we should consider for O&E.
We look forward to continuing (or developing) a rewarding and long-term academic association with you!
