    AALTO UNIVERSITY SCHOOL OF BUSINESS IS HIRING A TENURE TRACK OR TENURED PROFESSOR OF SUSTAINABILITY IN BUSINESS

    The Department hosts four disciplinary areas: Entrepreneurship, International Business, Organization and Management, and Organizational Communication. We are looking to hire an assistant, associate or full professor who will be positioned in one of these areas, to be negotiated depending on the expertise and interests of the candidate. We are looking for a candidate with evident ability to conduct high quality research and publish in the leading journals. The position requires a solid interest and research record in sustainability in the context of management studies.

    We offer the candidate the opportunity to do research in a vibrant and active international research community with a wealth of regular seminars, post-doctoral research and PhD students. We offer a broad range of opportunities for conducting multi-disciplinary and cross-disciplinary research across Aalto University and in collaboration with the Finnish industry, entrepreneurial ecosystem and government, as well as in international research projects. This is a tenure track position with competitive salary, teaching load of two courses per year, and research funds to enable the chosen applicant to develop an impactful research career.     The Department of Management Studies has a long track record of sustainability research, covering a number of areas, such as sustainable business models, sustainable energy transitions, inclusive innovation for poverty alleviation, sustainability entrepreneurship, cross- sector partnerships, corporate social responsibility, business ethics, and transitions towards new sustainable economy. The department also hosts a dynamic Sustainability in Business research group (http://sub.aalto.fi/) and a dedicated Creative Sustainability Master's programme (http://acs.aalto.fi/).

    The Department's faculty actively publishes in the leading journals of the represented disciplines, such as Academy of Management Journal, Administrative Science Quarterly, Journal of Business Venturing, Journal of International Business Studies, Journal of Management Studies, Organization Science, Organization Studies, Organization Science, and Strategic Management Journal, as well as sustainability-related journals, such as Business Ethics Quarterly, Business Strategy and the Environment, Ecological Economics, and Journal of Cleaner Production.


    Requirements

    Throughout their careers, those in the academic tenure track system are expected to carry out and supervise scientific research, to provide high quality academic education, to follow the advances of their field, to participate in service to the Aalto University community, and to take part in societal discussions and international collaboration in their field.

    The applicants should hold a doctorate in a discipline relevant for this position. The applicants will be reviewed on the basis of their research, teaching and activity in the scientific community. In the absence of formal proof of quality in research and teaching (e.g. published papers, teaching ratings), applicants are encouraged to submit proof of significant potential for high-quality teaching and research. The call is open on any level of the Aalto University tenure track system (Assistant, Associate, and Full Professor).
