UNIVERSITY LECTURER OR SENIOR UNIVERSITY LECTURER IN ORGANIZATION AND MANAGEMENT (Sustainability in business)
Aalto University School of business is looking for a lecturer interested in research and teaching in the domain of sustainability in business and corporate responsibility. The position is within the Organizations and Management discipline in the Department of Management Studies of Aalto University Business School (http://management.aalto.fi). The Organizations and Management discipline runs three Master programmes: Management and International Business, Creative Sustainability and Strategy.
The department hosts a strong sustainability in business research group (SUB; sub.aalto.fi). The group is specialized in innovations towards sustainability, including sustainability transitions, inclusive innovations (http://newglobal.aalto.fi) and energy system disruption (http://www.smartenergytransition.fi). The group actively publishes in sustainability, management and innovation journals such as the Journal of Business Ethics, Ecological Economics, Business Strategy and the Environment, Business Ethics Quarterly, the Journal of Cleaner Production, Journal of Management Studies, and Research Policy. The group is active in research collaboration with companies and creating societal impact. In addition, the department has a very competitive group of strategy and organization theory researchers who publish in leading management journals including AMR, AMJ, and ASQ.
The tasks of the Lecturer include teaching MSc students in sustainability in business and corporate responsibility, supervising Master's and PhD theses and participating in the planning and development of sustainability teaching programs. In addition to teaching, the position will also allow the chosen academic to pursue her or his own scientific research agenda.
The post will be filled at the level of university lecturer or senior university lecturer on the Aalto University lecturer track.
The dates of the employment relationship can be negotiated, preferably starting at January 1, 2017.
Requirements
A successful candidate should hold a PhD, possess excellent pedagogical skills and have experience in teaching at university level, and show research merits in the area of sustainability in business and corporate responsibility. Knowledge in sustainable development and corporate responsibility themes is required.
Salary
Aalto University follows the salary system of Finnish universities, but applicants may also provide their own salary requests. The position includes employee healthcare.
