This 2015 Professional Development Workshop (PDW) aims to shed new light on four areas of sustainability in management education (SME): 1) current philosophies and models that frame SME in business schools, 2) transformational interventions that inspire students’ learning and cultivate sustainability mindsets, 3) providing integration and mechanics to sustain long-term SME programs, and 4) the role of external organizations as effective change accelerators. These specific areas of interest were developed together with participants, invited facilitators and expert discussants taking part in the 2014 PDW entitled ‘Sustainability in Management Education: In Search of a Multidisciplinary, Innovative and Integrated Approach through University Leadership, Scholarship and Partnerships’. We have designed this PDW with a new framework in mind – one which reaches out to a wider number of AOM Divisions. We will include new members to join the on-going SME discussions, and one that adds new and integrated conversations on a number of research areas facilitating new knowledge, high quality learning experience, and best practices to takeaways in SME.
