    The Providence College School of Business seeks to appoint an endowed Chair at the rank of Associate or FullProfessor with primary departmental affiliation in Accounting, Finance, Management or Marketing.

    The successful candidate for the Michael A.  Ruane Chair for Innovation in Business Education will be an award-winning teacher with energy for innovatively engaging the contemporary business student and motivating the highest possible student achievement. The appointee willalso be an educator with skills and enthusiasm for bringing students, faculty and other stakeholders together in a learning environment integrated into the academic core of Providence College. We seek a colleague with a collaborative approach to the work of organizational development and whose teaching and scholarship reflect a multi-disciplinary base and/or a broad view of the role of business in our world and that of future generations.

    In the role of Ruane Chair the faculty member will teach two classes per year and help leverage internal and external resources to support innovative and effective teaching and learning. The faculty member will motivate a demonstrable increase in action-learning experiences in courses offered at PCSB such as multi-media elements like games/simulations; lab-type formats; bringing "live-cases" into the class-room; facilitating and overseeing student 'consulting' projects. The Ruane Chair appointee will build a culture of mutual support and reflectionaround faculty teaching and learning experiences that spans departments and will spur greater cross-school integration to support the mutual extension of disciplinary expertise across disciplinary boundaries through co-curricularactivities, team-teaching, or other activities. The appointee will conduct and publish scholarship motivated to contribute to business or business education practice or otherwise contribute to understanding of the role of business and leadership in society.
