Colleagues,
I am clearly delighted at the outcome of this case.
But, from a teaching perspective I have a question. A little background: (1) Starting next year (I am on sabbatical this term) I may be teaching ethics in our physician MBA program (all of our students in this program are medical doctors). And, (2) when I was at Penn State I served on the Medical School's ethics committee. This article puzzled me. My question is "What is the ethical issue for a doctor who sees what she believes might be a life threatening condition in someone who is not her patient?"
This might be a great case for the class. Perhaps I could even talk Jill (and perhaps Dr. Jaffe) into flying out and teaching it.
Phil

Subject: [IABS-L] Jill Brown Makes the News
In case you didn't know about our colleague, Jill Brown's experience, this is worth reading. Amazing it took this long to hit the news. We are so thankful for the progress she has made thus far.
Jill is on the road to recovery.
