    PHD POSITION IN MANAGEMENT AND ETHICS

     

    IÉSEG School of Management (Lille & Paris, France) invites applications for a 3-year, fully funded PhD position in the field of Business Ethics and Corporate Social Responsibility. This doctoral position is part of a large, multi-institution research project; this particular PhD student will focus on researching the link between the firm's corporate social and environmental responsibilities (CSR – corporate social responsibility) and the political system (CPA – corporate political activity).

    The offered PhD project will focus on the firm's corporate social and environmental responsibilities (CSR – corporate social responsibility) and its connection to the political system (CPA – corporate political activity). Combining insights from different disciplines, the PhD candidate will get the opportunity to engage in innovative business relevant research projects with high potential to get published in international peer-reviewed journals. The aim is to obtain the degree of PhD after 3 years, based on a combination of studies, including experimental research designs.

     

     

    QUALIFICATIONS OF THE PHD CANDIDATE

    ·        A profound interest to do high-quality academic research with a clear added value for business in an international environment.

    ·        A passion for ethics in a business environment.

    ·        A good knowledge of statistical methods (e.g. multivariate analysis based on experimental research) and software packages (e.g. SPSS, SAS)

    ·        Obtained a Master degree in Business, Economics, Management, or equivalent.

    ·        Fluent in English. Ability to write high-standard text in English.

    ·        Dynamic, pro-active, creative and serious personality.

     

    WORKING CONDITIONS OF THE PHD CANDIDATE

    The PhD students will work under the conditions of a research contract for a period of 3 years, starting early 2018. Salary conditions are in line with the French research system. 

     

    SUPERVISION OF THE PHD CANDIDATE

    The PhD students will be supported by a multi-disciplinary team by Prof. dr. Frank de Bakker, Prof. dr. Nico Heuvinck, and surrounded by their international research network.
