Indiana University's Randall L. <st1:placename w:st="on">Tobias</st1:placename> <st1:placename w:st="on">Center</st1:placename> for Leadership Excellence would like to announce its first Multi-Sector Forum on Ethical Leadership beginning with a Keynote Address in the evening of Thursday, April 13 and concluding with a lunch of Saturday, April 15. This conference will explore leadership from a range of different perspectives including business, government, the not-for-profit sector, education and medicine.
The Keynote Address will be delivered by Representative Lee Hamilton, Director of the <st1:place w:st="on"><st1:placename w:st="on">Woodrow</st1:placename> <st1:placename w:st="on">Wilson</st1:placename> <st1:placename w:st="on">International</st1:placename> <st1:placetype w:st="on">Center</st1:placetype></st1:place> for Scholars. Representative Hamilton served 34 years in the U.S. House of Representatives and was recently the Vice Chair of the 9-11 Commission.
Other featured speakers include:
• Joanne Ciulla, Professor and Coston Family Chair in Leadership and Ethics at the <st1:placename w:st="on">Jepson</st1:placename> <st1:placetype w:st="on">School</st1:placetype> of Leadership of the <st1:place w:st="on"><st1:placetype w:st="on">University</st1:placetype> of <st1:placename w:st="on">Richmond</st1:placename></st1:place>. Professor Ciulla's talk will be entitled: The Ethical Peculiarities of Leadership.
• Richard Gunderman, MD, PhD, Associate Professor of Radiology, Pediatrics, Medical Education, Philosophy, Liberal Arts and Philanthropy; Vice Chairman, Radiology; Director, Pediatric Radiology at the Indiana University School of Medicine. Professor Gunderman's talk will be entitled: Doing Well by Doing Good.
• Sheila Kennedy, Associate Professor of Law and Public Policy, School of Public and Environmental Affairs, Associate Professor of Philanthropic Studies and Adjunct Professor of Political Science at Indiana University Purdue University Indianapolis. Professor Kennedy's talk will be entitled: Public Ethics and the Challenges of the New Governance.
• John Mahon, John M. Murphy Chair of International Business Policy and Strategy and Acting Provost at the <st1:place w:st="on"><st1:placetype w:st="on">University</st1:placetype> of <st1:placename w:st="on">Maine</st1:placename></st1:place>. Provost Mahon's talk will be entitled: Confronting Leadership: Theory versus Practice.
• Ron Riggio, Director of the Kravis Leadership Institute at <st1:place w:st="on"><st1:placename w:st="on">Claremont</st1:placename> <st1:placename w:st="on">McKenna</st1:placename> <st1:placetype w:st="on">College</st1:placetype></st1:place>. Professor Riggio's talk will be entitled: The Social Psychology of Bad (and Good) Leadership.
• Wiley Souba, MD, ScD, MBA; Professor and Chairman of the Department of Surgery at the Penn State College of Medicine/Milton S. Hershey Medical Center. He serves as Surgeon-in-Chief at the <st1:placename w:st="on">Medical</st1:placename> <st1:placetype w:st="on">Center</st1:placetype> and is the Director of the <st1:place w:st="on"><st1:placename w:st="on">Penn</st1:placename> <st1:placetype w:st="on">State</st1:placetype> <st1:placename w:st="on">Hershey</st1:placename> <st1:placetype w:st="on">Center</st1:placetype></st1:place> for Leadership Development. Professor Souba's talk will be entitled: Challenges and <st1:place w:st="on"><st1:placename w:st="on">Opportunities</st1:placename> <st1:placename w:st="on">Facing</st1:placename> <st1:placename w:st="on">Academic</st1:placename> <st1:placename w:st="on">Medical</st1:placename> <st1:placetype w:st="on">Centers</st1:placetype></st1:place> in the 21st Century: A Call for Leadership.
• Linda Trevino, Professor of Organizational Behavior, Cook Fellow in Business Ethics and Director of the Shoemaker Program in Business Ethics in the Smeal College of Business at Penn State. Professor Trevino's talk will be entitled: Ethical Leadership: What We Know and Don't Know.
