• 1. Advice re holding a CSR Case Writing Competition

    Posted 04-14-2009 15:05

We are thinking of running a CSR case writing competition for the first time.

Have you run one? Might you have advice for us as we go down this path?

In particular, we would like to know the following:

    1. Format of such competition (how long, judging, entry fee???)

    2. Ways of getting words out to attract CSR related case entries

    3. Typical prize for winners

    4. Any anecdotal information you might share with us.

    Thanks very much,

    Alison

    Dear Alison,

Do get in touch with Jost Hamschmidt (jost.hamschmidt@unisg.ch) at the University of St. Gallen in Switzerland. He runs the oikos Case Writing Competition in the field of sustainability management and this year as well in the field of social entrepreneurship and has years of experience in this field. More information can be found as well on their webpage at:

    http://www.oikos-international.org/projects/cwc/about.html

You might think of working with oikos or other organizations in the field of corporate responsibility in order to increase your reach. Also I suggest you link it to ECCH and other case distribution channels (e.g. caseplace.org) to make sure the authors' work is disseminated broadly.

    Hope this helps.

    Sunny greets from Cranfield

    Heiko
