Assistant Professor in Strategic Management or Organizational Behavior
(JR#6387)
The Anderson School of Management at the University of New Mexico
invites applications for an Assistant Professor in the Department of
Organizational Studies. This appointment will be at the Assistant
Professor level in a probationary status leading to a tenure decision.
The appointment begins no later than August 15, 2008 subject to
budgetary approval. The successful candidate will be responsible for
teaching courses at the graduate and undergraduate levels in
organizational leadership and either strategic management or
organizational behavior depending on primary field of study.
Minimum qualifications: Applicants must hold: a) a Ph.D. or be near
completion of their doctoral studies in Strategic Management,
Organizational Behavior, or a related field by August 15, 2008; b)
evidence or promise of a significant program of research and
scholarship.
Preference will be given to candidates with:
* Strong research record and research interests that are open to
investigating academic questions that draw upon a variety of paradigms
and methodologies;
* Excellence or potential for excellence in teaching and in
developing innovative learning methods;
* Primary interest in teaching in the organizational leadership
program;
* Compatibility with current departmental and interdisciplinary
teaching and research needs;
* Evidence or potential for excellence in working with
multicultural constituencies.
The Anderson School is AACSB accredited. Management programs enroll
approximately 1100 undergraduate students and 400 graduate students.
The School emphasizes collaborative student interaction, active adult
learning, team experiences, and scholarship that draws upon a variety of
methodologies and subject areas. New Mexico is an ethnically diverse

and elaborating on any relevant secondary areas of emphasis in teaching
and research, 2) a current vita, 3) documentation of effectiveness or
potential effectiveness in research and teaching, and 4) letters of
