Kogod School of Business, Management Department
The Department of Management at the Kogod School of Business, American University, Washington, D.C. invites applications and nominations for a tenure-track appointment to a faculty position beginning Fall Semester 2014.
The ideal candidate will
·
Have earned a Ph. D. in Management with specialization in Social Issues in Management, Business & Society, Sustainability, Entrepreneurship (Social or Sustainable Entrepreneurship), Strategic Management, Environment, or related field (Ph. D. expected completion is August 2014.)

Teach courses in Global Corporate Citizenship (
sample course syllabus attached
) and related Management Areas
·
Successfully publish research in premier and high quality journals
·
Effectively teach undergraduate and graduate courses
·
Participate in department, school, and college activities
·
Have the potential to contribute to the school's mission in promoting scholarship in public-private partnerships that reflect the belief that profit and purpose are not at odds

Salary: Competitive
American University is a mid-sized private school located in Washington, DC with a commitment to excellence in research and teaching. The typical tenure-track teaching load is 2-2, and tenure track faculty may apply for a one-semester sabbatical at the end of their second year to facilitate progress on their research.
The tenure-line faculty in the Management Department (

) include Barbara Bird, Mark Clark, Parthiban David, Caren Goldberg, Steve Holmberg, Richard Linowes, Alex Mislin, and Xiaomeng Zhang. Faculty with related interests in the International Business Department include Heather Elms, Jennifer Oetzel, and Yujin Jeong. Our faculty have published in premier and high quality journals such as Administrative Science Quarterly, Academy of Management Journal, Academy of Management Review, Business Ethics Quarterly, Entrepreneurship Theory & Practice, Journal of Applied Psychology, Journal of Business Venturing, Journal of Management, Organizational Behavior and Human Decision Process, Organizational Science, Management Science, Personnel Psychology, and Strategic Management Journal. Our faculty have served as editors or editorial board members on journals such as Academy of Management Journal, Business Ethics Quarterly, Journal of Business Venturing, Journal of Management, Journal of Management Studies, Organization Science, and Strategic Management Journal.
