    The Management & Marketing Department in the John L. Grove College of Business at Shippensburg University (AACSB accredited since 1981) is beginning a search to fill a faculty position at the assistant/associate level to teach in the business & society area.   Please see the announcement below.

    Shippensburg University, a member of Pennsylvania's State System of Higher Education, has the following tenure-track faculty positions available beginning August, 2008.     Qualifications and requirements (unless otherwise noted):  All positions require:  1) Earned doctorate or appropriate terminal degree, which is required for tenure (ABD at time of hire may be considered), 2) Demonstrated commitment to teaching effectiveness, 3) Evidence of on-going scholarly or creative activity.  College level teaching experience is preferred, a demonstration of teaching effectiveness and evidence of a commitment to understanding diverse populations will be required as part of the on-campus interview.  Additional qualifications may be noted below.

     

    Unless otherwise noted, all applicants must send a letter of application, current curriculum vitae, undergraduate and graduate transcripts (unofficial for application, official prior to interview), names and contact information for three references, and any required supporting materials to the appropriate search committee chairperson.  Review of applications begins November 15, 2007 (unless otherwise noted) and will continue until positions are filled.  Applications will not be reviewed unless all supporting material is submitted.  Upon appointment, candidates must furnish proof of eligibility to work in the U.S.  Offers of employment are contingent upon successful completion of a criminal background check.

    COLLEGE OF BUSINESS

     

     

    MANAGEMENT : Responsibilities:  [1] Teach undergraduate and graduate courses (including distance education delivery) in Business and Society and at least one other disciplinary area within the department, including:  Entrepreneurship; Human Resource Management; and International Management; [2] Engage in both research and publication; and [3] Provide service to the university, college, department, and business community.  Requirements and Qualifications:  An earned doctorate in management or an appropriate AACSB accreditable degree (ABD at time of hire may be considered); a solid research/publication focus; demonstrated teaching effectiveness; and instructional technology capability.  A demonstration of teaching effectiveness and a presentation to faculty will be required as a part of the interview process.  A terminal degree from an accredited institution is required for tenure.  All candidates must furnish proof of eligibility to work in the U.S. upon appointment.  Offers of employment are contingent upon the successful completion of a criminal background check.  The review of applications begins in November 2007 and will continue until the position is filled.  Additional Materials Required:  To begin the application process, applicants must send:  [1] a letter of application; [2] a comprehensive resume; [3] undergraduate and graduate transcripts (unofficial for application, official prior to interview); [4] current official student evaluations; and [5] names, addresses, and telephone numbers of three current references.  Send materials to:  Dr. George S.
