    (Apologies for cross-posting)

The Aspen Institute Center for Business Education (CBE) is pleased to invite your participation at our inaugural web-conference, first in the Center for Business Education Web-Conference Series.

MBA Curriculum Reform in the Accounting Discipline

    Featuring:

Jane Cote, Associate Professor of Accounting, Washington State University, Vancouver

    Moderated by:

Maureen Scully, Professor of Management, University of Massachusetts, Boston

Time and Date: Tuesday, April 29th, 2008, 1pm - 2pm Eastern Standard Time (EST)

Professor Cote will be discussing the recently revamped core MBA Accounting Course at WSU, Vancouver. This new course explores how accounting information impacts not only strategic decision makers but also a firm's stakeholders. In the face of endless possible data collection, it is essential to assess what should be measured in order to assess performance and progress toward strategic goals, and most fundamentally, to look deeply at what we need to know about the credibility and implicit assumptions in the process of measurement itself.

The course, "Accounting Measurement for Leaders" is a piece of the innovative work being done as part of Aspen Institute CBE's Corporate Governance and Accountability Project.

We very much hope that you will accept this invitation. Please RSVP or send any inquiries to Alex.Roberts@aspeninstitute.org. Thank you for your time and attention!

    Sincerely,
