    An exciting opportunity for fully funded PhD Research at on of the world's leading centres for CSR research (the ICCSR at Nottingham University Business School) supported by FTSE a  world-leader in the creation and management of SRI indices

     

    How to make CSR calculable and corporations responsible? Exploring the influence of CSR indexes in corporate behaviour.


    This exciting research project, in collaboration with FTSE, will investigate how CSR indexes contribute to making corporations behave in a responsible manner examining the processes and channels through which CSR indexes influence corporate behaviour, the extent to which CSR indexes lead to the institutionalization of socially responsible practices within corporations, the sensitivity of top executives to these metrics, other incentives that may influence corporate behaviour and any symbolic processes in play. The purpose of this investigation will be to identify how the effectiveness of these CSR indexes can be increased so that corporations will behave in a more socially responsible manner.

     

    Supervisors will be:

     

    Jeremy Moon - Director of the ICCSR

    Dr Jean Pascal Gone - Lecturer in CSR

    Will Oulton - Head of Responsible Investment at FTSE

     

    The studentship is open to UK and EU Nationals only and will fund:

    All tuition fees at the Home/EU rate (£3,300 for 08/09).

    A starting tax-free maintenance grant of £16,940.

    Additional funds for research costs.

    Placements and training at FTSE.
