Does anyone have any recommendations for videos that could be used in business ethics classes on the topic of environmental sustainability & protection?  What videos work particularly well at UG or grad level?  I'd like to show something shorter and more applied to business than Al Gore's "Inconvenient Truth."

    Thanks for your suggestions,

Tima Bansal told me about a wonderful Canadian photographer named Edward Burtynsky. His work is incredible. You can check out his pictures on his web page. You will also see that youcan buy a film that put his photos to video. I am sure that you can figure out a way to use some of it in class. Good luck!

You (and the students) will have to do the voice over, but Godfrey Reggio's wordless film (with the Philip Glass soundtrack) Koyaanisqatsi (Hopi for "life out of balance") is a brilliant depiction of nature, technology, and humanity in evolving conflict (subject to your interpretation). You can show clips and discuss; I once showed a clip toward the end of an undergraduate class and even though the bell rang, several students stayed to watch the rest of the film.

Good choice Chris. I think the other two in the Trilogy (Life in
Transition, Life as War) are worth showing as well. Cheers: Greg
