Pushing Boundaries: Cross-Sector Partnerships in Healthcare
    Cross-Sector Partnerships

As in previous years (2009-2011), this PDW will continue to use real time dynamic interactions between academics and practitioners to ground our conversations. A panel of GE Healthcare and its nonprofit partners from both emerging markets as well as more developed markets will join the conversation to allow the PDW participants to delve deep into individual cases as well compare topics across cases. Given the history of cross-sector partnerships wthin healthcare, the numerous types of partners and stakeholders, and the potential impact of these partnerships – the context of healthcare is ideal in studying how boundaries are challenged through cross-sector partnerships. We explore boundaries in markets, in policies, in development work, in financing and in perspectives of innovation. We do this from multiple stakeholders' perspectives. Senior scholars will take the lead in focusing questions to the panel and guiding table discussions specific to these boundary themes as well as related research topics emerging during the Idea Market. Together, all participants will explore and seek to further develop and shape the scholarly conversation in cross-sector partnering. As in previous years, the conversations will be summarized and available to the community of scholars to generate streams of research in the field. The topic of this year's PDW will be once again engaging and thought provoking as we deliberately focus on deepening the scholarly conversation about cross-sector partnerships. This PDW has become a gathering place for a growing community of scholars who enjoy coming together. We invite interested practitioners and scholars to join us.
