Is Corporate Citizenship Making a Difference?
An International Academic Symposium hosted by the United Nations Global Compact, the UNISA Centre for Corporate Citizenship, and the Lindenberg Center for Global Citizenship

Come experience <st1:country-region w:st="on"><st1:place w:st="on">Ghana</st1:place></st1:country-region> and participate in the first international symposium to discuss the impact of corporate citizenship and multi-stakeholder partnership initiatives! The symposium theme will become increasingly prominent, as both protagonists and critics of corporate citizenship seek to understand, monitor, and enhance the contribution of business to sustainable development.
The preliminary symposium programme is now available! It features a keynote address by Prof Klaus Leisinger, special adviser to the United Nations Secretary General, and cutting-edge paper sessions on the following topics, among others:
- The local impacts of corporate citizenship efforts and company-community relations;
- Business as an agent for development?
- Sector analyses in banking and agriculture;
- Collective business action and its impact;
- The evolution and impact of voluntary forms of governance;
- Comparative analyses of multi-stakeholder partnerships; and
- The impact of the United Nations Global Compact.
The symposium will take place at the Ghana Institute of Management and Public Administration (GIMPA) (http://www.gimpa.edu.gh). The conference fee of US$400 covers airport transfers, three nights' accommodation and meals, a half-day field trip, all conference materials, and a gala dinner on 22 November at the La Palm Beach Hotel together with participants of the Global Compact International Learning Forum Meeting.
