This Web-Conference is scheduled for Wednesday, October 18th, 2006, 2:00pm - 3:30pm, EST.
Washington State University Vancouver's new MBA curriculum integrates stakeholder theory into the learning goals of every course. "We thoughtfully considered what business leaders really do and what education would best serve future leaders," stated Dr. Goodstein. "Our investigations convinced us that, at its heart, our program should teach students to incorporate multiple stakeholder perspectives into business decision-making and analysis." Accomplishing this goal required building the MBA core around stakeholder theory in a way that enhanced disciplinary content.
The WSU team will present:
• The motivations for integrating stakeholder theory into the MBA curriculum
• The theoretical model which served as the foundation for the curriculum change
• How stakeholder theory was incorporated into the MBA core, using finance as an example.
• How course content was modified to incorporate stakeholder theory, using accounting as an example.
• The role played by the Beyond Grey Pinstripes survey report and Caseplace.org.
• The reactions of the faculty, community, and students to the new program.
They will also lead a discussion session and a Q & A.
