Hello Mr. Roman,
My name is Aabir Dey and I am a Research Assistant at Wilfrid Laurier University's CMA Centre for Business and Sustainability. We are currently organizing a dialogue-focused workshop for Canadian business faculty on May 4th on how to best integrating sustainability issues in management education.
We are looking for different ways to promote this workshop to interested faculty members, and generate a meaningful dialogue based on the topics we are introducing at the event, and we were hoping to use the SIM LISTSERV as a venue.
Please let me know if this is an event that we would be allowed to post on the LISTSERV - the workshop details and message are written below.
Thanks kindly,
Aabir

Integrating Sustainability into Business Education:
A Workshop for Canadian Business Faculty
Where: University of Guelph Arboretum Auditorium
When: Tuesday, May 4, 2010, 9:30am - 4:30pm
Global sustainability issues - energy, climate, water, food, justice, population, poverty - will form the relevant context for organizational leaders in the 21st century. The ability of business leaders to cope with these challenges and to leverage the opportunities in a shifting landscape will be directly affected by the quality of management education in Canada. Is the curriculum at your school progressing in time to lead constructively on issues of business and sustainability?
Join Dr. Barry Colbert, Director of Wilfrid Laurier University's CMA Centre for Business and Sustainability, and Dr. Elizabeth Kurucz, Assistant Professor, Department of Business, University of Guelph, as they host a free one-day educational workshop for faculty members in Canadian business schools interested in incorporating sustainability tenets into their teaching materials.
The workshop will draw on perspectives from sustainability educators, students, industry, government, and civil society and will encourage structured dialogues between faculty members on a variety of topics. Engage with other faculty members across Canada to learn about the best practices of leading business schools, and to discuss the challenges and opportunities that pertain to sustainability- focused business education.
In partnership with the Network for Business and Sustainability, we have asked the Dialogue Leaders of our workshop to share their thoughts on what Canadian business schools should emphasize in order to help the next generation of organizational leaders address global sustainability issues. Visit
www.nbs.net/news.aspx to read what our Dialogue Leaders have to say, and please send your thoughts (500 words or less) to Anthea Rowe (
arowe@nbs.net) at the Network for Business and Sustainability, to contribute to the workshop dialogue.
We encourage you to continue this discussion on this LISTSERV, and pass this information to any faculty members who may be interested in sharing their thoughts and attending the workshop.
Registration is free - full meals, snacks, and beverages will be provided (spaces are limited). Please register for the workshop at
www.wlu.ca/sbe/cmacro before Wednesday, April 28th, 2010.
Thank you for your support and looking forward to your participation!
