  • 1.  PDW Session at AOM-Ask the Experts: Meet the Journal and Book Editors

    Posted 05-24-2010 18:59

    Dear SIM colleagues:

I would like to call your attention to the following PDW session at the upcoming Academy of management Meetings in Montreal:

Ask the Experts:  Meet the Journal and Book Editors

Chair: David A. Waldman; Arizona State University; Don S. Siegel, University at Albany, SUNY

This PDW is designed as an interactive experience that will provide a variety of insights from chief editors and associate editors of highly ranked journals including AMJ (James Combs), AMR (Amy Hillman), SMJ (Will Mitchell), and Personnel Psychology (Fred Morgeson).  We will also have representatives of a few of the top book publishing groups including The University of Chicago Press (David Pervin) and Sage Publications (Lisa Shaw). The format of the session will be interactive in that each panelist will make some remarks about their experience in handling SIM-related themes, followed by brief Q&A. Once the opening remarks and individual Q&A's have been concluded, some time will be spent at the end as open interaction among the attendees and the panelists. This workshop is being offered in response to the continuing need in the SIM community to develop research to the level where it can compete effectively for space in the top management journals. As the competition to publish in these top journals increases, sessions like this one can provide assistance to those researchers who are struggling to craft their research at this level.  In addition, information will be provided for individuals interested in publishing books pertaining to SIM-related themes. The scheduled time and day of the session is from 3-4:30 pm on Saturday August 7. However that scheduling is subject to change.

    No pre-registration required.

    Best regards,

    Don Siegel
