The Doughty Centre for Corporate Responsibility
Post-doctoral Research Fellow
Salary in the range £29,206 - £38,011 per annum
The Doughty Centre for Corporate Responsibility, part of Cranfield University School of Management, is a research centre aiming to equip managers of today and the future with the knowledge, skill and desire to incorporate sustainability and responsibility into the heart of business. We engage with students on the Cranfield MBA and MSc courses and across the campus for dissemination of the understanding and importance of sustainability, through teaching, student thesis/projects, and extra-curricular activity. We are also able to engage with the extensive knowledge creation and research that occurs at Cranfield across disciplines, where our collective focus is 'knowledge into action'. Because of the importance we place on application of our knowledge, we work closely with industry, the public sector, and business/CR coalitions to engage society and industry in becoming more sustainable.
We are seeking a Post-doctoral Research Fellow to complement our approach at every level; supporting our desire to produce timely, relevant, and quality knowledge that can be turned into action in our research, teaching and sharing of ideas, and in the application of that research and experience. The role is challenging and rewarding as it bridges academic research, writing and teaching WITH practitioner research, writing and engagement so that each feed into and support the other.
The ideal candidate will have the ability to work individually and collaboratively with both a world class faculty and students. You will hold a doctoral degree with a research focus in corporate responsibility and sustainability, demonstrate a willingness to assist businesses seeking to improve their performance in corporate responsibility and sustainability, and have the ability to translate academic research into practitioner insights and vice-versa.
In return, we offer a competitive salary, depending on experience and academic achievement, as well as an attractive pension scheme, generous holidays and pleasant working environment. The appointment will be for a period of 2 years in the first instance.
