    (APOLOGIES FOR CROSS-POSTING)

    Hello:

Every year I submit course evaluations for my business ethics course to my dean as part of my performance review.  And every year, whether the scores are high or low or somewhere in between, I realize that I do not fully understand why the course receives the scores that it does.  So my curiosity on this issue has turned into a research project.

I invite you to participate in a survey regarding business ethics courses taught in business schools.  The survey is focused on better understanding the nature of student evaluations of business ethics courses at both the undergraduate and graduate levels.  Questions will range from objective issues (e.g., your rank, topics covered in the course) to more subjective assessments (e.g., your thoughts on students' and administrators' attitudes towards the course).  The main goal is to make data available to business schools and instructors of business ethics courses for more accurate assessments of the value and effectiveness of business ethics courses.

The survey takes 15-20 minutes to complete.  Your response will remain completely anonymous.  You do not have to answer every question.  At the end of the survey, you will be given information about how you will eventually be able to learn some of the results of this exercise.

                Thank you for your time.
