PDW Description:
The Operationalizing Sustainability PDW will allow managers, academicians, and NGOs to interact to explore the best ways to move forward in measuring sustainability. In an effort to ensure relevance, the PDW will drive the joint development of measures that are useful by both researchers and practitioners in the corporate and NGO worlds. Walmart's experiences with the development and use of a sustainability index will be presented as a focused case study for discussion. We are especially hopeful that cross-functional and cross-level interactions and collaboration will occur, in keeping with the inherently multilevel and complex nature of sustainability measurement. Our overall goal is to educate on and promote a consortium based approach to the development of sustainability metrics.
Registration Details: Preregistration for this PDW is required. Participants should register via the AOM 2009 Meeting Website. Questions regarding the PDW should be directed to Heather Dixon-Fowler at HDixonfowler@walton.uark.edu.
