Associate Professor in Strategic Management (September 2010 Start)
Qualifications and Responsibilities
The College of Business Administration at Northeastern University invites applications for an Associate Professor in Strategic Management. This position will be effective September 2010. Approval of the position is expected by August 2009.
Candidates should possess the doctoral degree in Strategic Management or a closely related business field. A research record and interest in (a) environmental sustainability or (b) innovation is desirable. The successful candidate will have demonstrated a strong commitment to excellence in scholarly research, teaching, and working with a diverse student population. Support for research is available.
The International Business and Strategy faculty have responsibility for a broad array of core courses. At the undergraduate level these include Introduction to Business that is designed as an introductory strategy course, the capstone Strategy in Action course, and the required International Business and Corporate Social Responsibility course. At the graduate level the courses include Strategic Management and Global Management

The College of Business has typically not hired an Associate Professor with tenure. L
ateral credit toward tenure is negotiable
. Employment terms are competitive and negotiable depending on career progress and track record.

Research Opportunities
: Faculty members are expected to actively engage in high quality research and publishing. Support for faculty members' intellectual activities is broad and can be in the form of summer funding, teaching release time, data base acquisition, research travel funds, graduate research assistants, or travel stipends for presentations at academic conferences. Research fellowships for tenure-track assistant professors and senior faculty are available on a competitive basis.
The International Business and Strategy Group
: There are eighteen tenured and tenure track members of the International Business and Strategy Group: Henry Lane, Edward F. McDonough III, Sheila Puffer, Ravi Ramamurti, Ravi Sarathy, Allan Bird, William Crittenden, James Dana, Nicholas Athanassiou, Ray Kinnunen, Carl Nelson, Christopher Robertson, Bert Spector, Todd Alessandri, Elitsa Banalieva, Irem Demirkan, Denise Dunlap-Hinkler, and Anna Lamin. The group also has two Academic Specialists and two full-time Lecturers. In addition, there are several faculty members in other functional groups with primary research interests in international business and strategy. The International Business and Strategy Group operates the college's Center for Emerging Markets Research (led by Ravi Ramamurti) and the Institute of Global Innovation Management (led by Harry Lane).
