    Join us for a Dialogue on Sustainable Enterprise

     

    Building from the Ground Up: The Questions We Ask About Sustainable Enterprise

     

     

    Date:  Saturday, August 9, 2008          Time: 9:00 – 11:00 a.m.

    Place: Anaheim Marriot, Grand Ballroom, Salon J

     

    If you are interested in sustainability this is a PDW you will not want to miss. This workshop offers an opportunity to collectively explore issues and challenges encompassing the natural, the social and the economic environments confronting enterprises operating in developed or developing countries of the world.

     

    Ten scholars deeply committed to advancing research on organizations for sustainability will introduce questions pertaining to the following issues:

     

    ·         Organizational skills, capabilities, and processes needed to facilitate sustainable entrepreneurial ventures. (Dr. Mark Milstein, Mr. Erik Simanis, and Mr. Duncan Duke, Cornell University)

    ·         Individual level motivations and changes required to advance sustainability goals of institutions. (Dr. Gordon Rands, Western Illinois University and Dr. Mark Starik, George Washington University)

    ·         Full range of impacts and unique poverty alleviation implications of Base-of-the-Pyramid ventures. (Dr. Ted London, University of Michigan)

    ·         Research design of a study on Global Sustainable Enterprise. (Dr. Aarti Sharma and Dr. Paul Lee, University of South Florida)

    ·         Corporate social responsibility, stakeholder salience and CEO moral reasoning. (Dr. Jim Weber, Duquesne University)

    ·         Micro-enterprise as a catalyst for sustainability in Base-of-the-Pyramid communities. (Dr. David Saiia, Duquesne University)
