Please forgive cross-postings.
Dear SIM colleagues:
The Research Network for Business Sustainability, through its council of sustainability practitioners, has identified two priorities that warrant systematic reviews of prior research. There are two related opportunities that may be of interest.
CALLS FOR PROPOSALS FOR SYSTEMATIC REVIEWS
The Network is funding two systematic reviews each worth Cdn$25,000. The two focal questions are:
· How do businesses adapt their strategies to climate change?
· Do consumers take social and/or environmental attributes into account when making purchase decisions?
The two calls for proposals are available at www.sustainabilityresearch.org/index.php?fa=Opportunities.showNeeds. The deadline for proposals is August 4, 2008.
Each project must be led by an academic based in Canada, but collaborations are welcome and encouraged. I know already of one Canadian academic seeking a collaborator for the consumerism project. Please let me know if you are interested in connecting to this person or finding a collaborator for the climate adaptation project.
CALLS FOR PRESENTERS AT RELATED EVENTS
In addition to the above opportunity, the Network is looking for experts from both the communities of research and practice to present at a forum on each of the two topics listed above. Funding will be provided. The dates will be confirmed shortly. For more information, please see www.sustainabilityresearch.org/index.php?fa=News.showNewsStory&news_id=35.
Best of luck with the proposals, and please do not hesitate to ask if you have any questions.
Sincerely,
Tom Ewart
