Charlot and Dennis Singleton Chair in Corporate Governance

Lehigh University’s Department of Management is now accepting applications
for the new Charlot and Dennis Singleton Chair in Corporate Governance. We
are looking for a senior faculty (rank of full or associate professor) with
a high profile research record and active scholarship in corporate
governance and accountability. An excellent teaching record is required
with an interest in strategic management as well as corporate governance
and ethics. We expect that this person will be a champion and catalyst for
interdisciplinary research efforts in this area.

This position is part of a major hiring initiative within the College of
Business and Economics that is unprecedented in scope at Lehigh University
(www.lehigh.edu). The faculty recruitment plan includes the addition of 12
new faculty positions this year across all departments and at various
levels of seniority. New university leadership that includes President
Alice Gast, formerly from MIT, Dean Paul Brown from NYU/Stern and Provost
Mohamed El-Aasser is fully committed to this effort.

Lehigh University is ranked 33rd among national universities in the 2007 US
News & World Report, 20th in BusinessWeek’s top undergraduate business
programs, and placed in the most competitive category in both Peterson’s
Guide and Barron’s Profile of American Colleges. For nearly 140 years,
Lehigh University has combined outstanding academic and learning
opportunities with leadership in fostering innovative research. The
institution is among the nation's most selective, highly ranked private
research universities. Lehigh’s four colleges provide graduate and
undergraduate education to 6,500 students. Lehigh is located in eastern
Pennsylvania, on a scenic, 1,600-acre campus in historic Bethlehem (ranked
in Money Magazines’ “top 100 places to live” in 2006), 50 miles north of
Philadelphia and 75 miles southwest of New York City. Lehigh Valley
International Airport, served by most major airlines, is 15 minutes from
    campus.

The College of Business and Economics is home to approximately 1250
undergraduates, 325 graduate students, and 55 full-time faculty members. In
addition to undergraduate, MBA, and various doctoral programs, joint
programs exist between business and engineering including the joint Center
for Value Chain Research. The Management Department includes faculty in
supply chain, information systems, strategic management, and organizational
behavior. We have just introduced a new undergraduate management major.
Opportunities for sponsored research are available through the Center for
    Value Chain Research (www.lehigh.edu/~inchain).

Review of applications will begin immediately and will continue until the
position is filled. To ensure full consideration, please send a letter of
interest and curriculum vitae to Professor Susan A. Sherer, Chair
Department of Management, College of Business and Economics, Lehigh
University, 621 Taylor Street, Bethlehem, PA 18015-3117, 610-758-3424,
