<st1:personname w:st="on">EABIS</st1:personname> is pleased to launch the Call for Contributions for its 8th Annual Colloquium at <st1:placename w:st="on">IESE</st1:placename> <st1:placename w:st="on">Business</st1:placename> <st1:placetype w:st="on">School</st1:placetype> (<st1:place w:st="on"><st1:city w:st="on">Barcelona</st1:city></st1:place>, Sept 21-22). Please download the Full Call and Submission Guidelines from the EABIS website.
The 2009 conference promises a significant exploration of a subject that has developed global dimensions and importance. Three days after the last <st1:personname w:st="on">EABIS</st1:personname> Colloquium (Cranfield, Sept 2008), Lehman Brothers collapsed, unleashing a financial, economic and – increasingly – a socio-political and governance crisis.
This year's Colloquium will therefore focus on the governance of the firm, in the context of new global governance challenges. We also have particular interest in contributions addressing the questions how the role of business in society is likely to change and to what extent governance mechanisms can foster corporate responsibility at the global, company and individual levels.
We are seeking contributions that present new research insights and ideas, business responses, and forward-looking thought leadership. The Colloquium will bring together over 300 senior academics, executives, policy thinkers and policy makers, plus international and non-governmental representatives.
<st1:personname w:st="on">EABIS</st1:personname> and IESE value multidisciplinary and interdisciplinary inputs from Strategic Management, Accounting, Finance, Corporate Governance, Public Affairs, Organisational Behaviour, HRM, Operations Management, Value Creation and Entrepreneurship, International Relations and Global Governance, Political Economy, and of course Corporate Responsibility, Sustainability and Business Ethics.
The deadline for submissions is close of business on FRIDAY, MAY 29.
More information is available at the official Colloquium site: www.iese.edu/eabis2009.
For further information, please contact: Prof. Joan Fontrodona, Colloquium Co-Chair at fontrodona@iese.edu.
Kind regards,
Claudia on behalf of the <st1:personname w:st="on">EABIS</st1:personname> team
