The Milgard School of Business at the University of Washington, Tacoma
seeks a part-time visiting faculty member in management for the 2006-2007
academic year. Candidates at the Lecturer, Assistant, Associate and Full
Professor level are encouraged to apply. The position is not a
tenure-track position.
We encourage applications from Ph.D.-qualified candidates who are
dedicated to excellence in teaching and research. Our teaching needs
include upper-division, undergraduate courses and possibly an MBA course.
We seek candidates who can contribute to the academic success of diverse
students and who have interest in collaborating with faculty colleagues on
scholarly work. The Milgard School of Business serves approximately 400
undergraduate and 70 MBA students with majors in accounting, finance,
international business, management, and marketing.
The University of Washington, Tacoma, one of three UW campuses, is an
urban upper-division and graduate-level campus that is changing the face
of its region economically, culturally, and architecturally. Degrees are
offered in business, computing and software systems, education, nursing,
social work, urban studies, and arts and sciences. UW Tacoma will begin
admitting freshmen in Autumn 2006 and will be transitioning into a full
four-year institution. The Milgard School of Business, recently named in
recognition of a $15 million gift from the Milgard family, will continue
to expand its positive relationships with businesses and private donors in
the South Puget Sound region. The Milgard School of Business grants
AACSB-accredited baccalaureate degrees with study options in accounting,
finance, general business, international business, management, and
marketing.
Qualifications: We are interested in candidates with demonstrated
excellence in teaching and established or promising research records. We
require an earned doctorate in Management, Organizational Behavior, or a
related field. Candidates nearing completion of the doctorate will also
be considered.
